Snap Judgement Review of Twilight Soundtrack
by TwilightSoundtrack on Oct.31, 2008, under Soundtrack News

EW has just listened to an advance of the Twilight Movie soundtrack, and the news so far sounds great–
MUSE, ”Supermassive Black Hole”
The soundtrack gets off to a rockin’ start with Muse (no strangers to a Stephenie Meyer playlist), whose angsty tune could be Edward Cullen’s bad-ass theme song. ”I thought I was a fool for no one, but baby, I’m a fool for you.” HOT.
Things get romantic with the Perry Farrell contribution–
PERRY FARRELL, ”Go All The Way (Into the Twilight)”
Putting the name of the movie into the title and lyrics feels slightly gimmicky/obvious, but you’ve got to hand it to the former Jane’s Addiction frontman, he knows his Twilight. Sample lyric: ”The first time I saw you, I had the fever.” (What a polite way of saying ”I wanted to completely devour you!”) Fan sites have chewed over Farrell’s explanation that ”The song conjures up that adolescent feeling when a young man, who has been pursuing a girl he really likes, finally gets her.” Those remarks and the song’s title make this track a top contender for the mood music accompanying Bella and Edward’s first steamy lip lock. But I guess we’ll have to patiently wait until Nov. 21 to know for sure.
And, with the news we’ve all been waiting on about Rob Pattinson’s contribution–
ROBERT PATTINSON, ”Never Think”
I’m not going to pretend I didn’t immediately skip to this track the second I dropped the preview CD into my colleague’s Discman (yes, someone in our office still owns a Discman). After catching a quick bite of the beautiful Brit’s folksy Whisky a Go Go performance on YouTube, I was eager to hear what the thesp would do on his first bona fide recording. He did not disappoint. The delicate guitar and laid-back vocals (compared by some to a young Jeff Buckley) would be the perfect background to Edward and Bella’s post-fight reunion in the hospital. We may not be getting Pattinson’s version of ”Bella’s Lullaby,” but this track leaves me wanting for nothing — well, maybe a personal serenade.
Why Rob Pattinson Should Host SNL
by TwilightSoundtrack on Oct.31, 2008, under Rob Pattinson, Soundtrack News

PopWatch reports that Rob Pattinson would make a great SNL host–not least because he is a multi-talented actor/songwriter!–
When we heard that Twilight fans have organized a petition to nominate their patron vampire saint Edward Cullen (also known as actor Robert Pattinson) for a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, we felt it was our duty to bring this matter to the people. And since the best voter is a well-informed voter, we’ve put together the top three reasons why Pattinson should appear on the sketch show stage:
1. It would be good for the economy: In these lean times, everyone’s looking to save a buck or two — even big networks like NBC — and in Rob you get not only a host, but a musical guest to boot. And after my exclusive preview of the Twilight soundtrack, which includes Pattinson’s song “Never Think,” I can whole-heartedly endorse the vamp’s vocal prowess.
Rob Pattinson’s Unlikely Foray into Movie Songwriting
by TwilightSoundtrack on Oct.31, 2008, under Rob Pattinson, Soundtrack News

The LA Times reports on Rob Pattinson’s unlikely foray into songwriting in the Twilight movie:
Heartthrob Robert Pattinson not only stars in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire romance, “Twilight,” out Nov. 21, he’s contributed two songs to the film, one of which, “Never Think” will be included on the official soundtrack.
But the self-effacing Brit insists that the songs’ inclusion was wholly accidental; a mysterious third party slipped director Catherine Hardwicke a copy of his recordings without his knowledge and she opted to include them, surprising Pattinson when he turned up to see some early footage.
“When I went to see the cut,” Pattinson said during an interview Wednesday afternoon, “she’d put these two songs in. They’re old songs, but one of them specifically, it really made the scene better. It was like it was supposed to be there. It’s strange because what was supposed to be at that point in the movie was a big orchestral film climax. Instead it’s this little song with acoustic guitar. I’m singing it, maybe that makes it different, but it’s kind of overwhelming. I hope it’s overwhelming.”
