Rob Pattinson’s Unlikely Foray into Movie Songwriting

The LA Times reports on Rob Pattinson’s unlikely foray into songwriting in the Twilight movie:
Heartthrob Robert Pattinson not only stars in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire romance, “Twilight,” out Nov. 21, he’s contributed two songs to the film, one of which, “Never Think” will be included on the official soundtrack.
But the self-effacing Brit insists that the songs’ inclusion was wholly accidental; a mysterious third party slipped director Catherine Hardwicke a copy of his recordings without his knowledge and she opted to include them, surprising Pattinson when he turned up to see some early footage.
“When I went to see the cut,” Pattinson said during an interview Wednesday afternoon, “she’d put these two songs in. They’re old songs, but one of them specifically, it really made the scene better. It was like it was supposed to be there. It’s strange because what was supposed to be at that point in the movie was a big orchestral film climax. Instead it’s this little song with acoustic guitar. I’m singing it, maybe that makes it different, but it’s kind of overwhelming. I hope it’s overwhelming.”

Robert pattinson you are so handsome. I love Bella’s Lullaby it’s so sweet. I also love Never Think it’s the best you are so talented. You are so good on the piano I wish I could see you in person that would be awesome but it would never happen. I can’t wait for the movie to come out it looks so good i am going to go see it the day it comes out. I have a poster of you hanging on my wall it’s so sexy. It’s so cool that you are British. I was watching a preview for Twilight it was so good. And I can’t believe you had to use groin paddin because it caused chaffing ang that you became co passionate in one seen that you actually fell out of the bed. Well your the best. Always.

I luv all of d songs, especialy d 2 songs r iron n wine, also decode it made me feel more dan happy,when i’m listening 2 it. robert pattinson u r so d cutest guy i have ever seen in my life, n u rock no more dan dat u rule.also don’t change ur cool look, cauz ur face is so dreamy n everything about u is so dreamy. so keep d positive person in u, n never be a negative person, just be ur self always. robert, u r d kind person also u r d man!

I believe Rob is very right, the song “never think” is fantastic and overwelming. I have just brought the CD, I had a really bad day so i put the cd in my player and I’ve never felt so relaxed and calm in my life. You should be very proud of what you do Rob, as i am. x

rob said there were two songs that was in the soundtrack.. but i only saw just one- never think.. which i think was kinda short.. and i had trouble understanding the words BUT-there’s a BUT people (before you throw stones at me) i am by no means dissing him-oh far from it. he is a talented. so um what more can you ask for? good looks, tall, and talented artist… wow.. if you get with him, its like you won the lottery (grand prize!)

…amazing..i event luv every scene i’d seen in this film & the soundtrack is so beautiful..specially for “never think & Bella’s lullaby, n the way Edward play the piano…just lllllove..it.His the most sexy gorgeous talented actor in the earth..hmm. But why I only found one song of him in the CD soundrack..?.

i am so in love with the song “let me sign” it made the scene after the vampire attack soooo much more meaningful. i mean every time i listen to it i can imagine edward singing it to bella. im just disappointed its not on the sound track.
